High-tech manufacturing and laboratory facilities

Markes International is a manufacturer and supplier of specialist scientific instrumentation and supplies. Its products are used worldwide to help analytical chemists to detect low levels of organic chemicals in solids, liquids and gases in a wide and diverse range of industries. The company has facilities in the UK, Germany, China and the USA. It recently relocated its UK headquarters from Llantrisant to Bridgend, near Cardiff, in Wales. The new 50,000 sq ft site accommodates its high-tech manufacturing and laboratory facilities, providing flexibility and a vastly improved working environment.

3D design and installation service

As part of the site development, the company required a high-quality workspace solution for a laboratory in their research facility. Through dealer CSI, bott was recommended and chosen as workplace storage partner for the project. Included in the scope of works for the bott project team, was an assessment of the company’s operational needs & workflows, 3D design plans and full installation service.

Extensive bench system

An extensive bench system was proposed using integrated cabinets and cupboards – offering a flexible, multi-use worktop area, mixed with organised storage for tools and equipment. Mobile cabinets that can be neatly stowed away, add to the versatility of the whole working area. Finished in anthracite grey, products from the bott cubio range were selected - promising reliable performance with a clean, professional look. With the order placed on 25th January and installation completed by 24th February, bott delivered an efficient, streamlined and professional service, all within an enviable turnaround time.
