As part of our aim to support safe working practices internally and with our customers, we are delighted to confirm that Bott meets the requirements of the Driving for Better Business Commitment.

Our Tender Coordinator, Stephanie Bladon, recently completed on behalf of Bott Ashby the online fleet risk assessment, which helps review company vehicle driving procedures and policies. Our score was well above the member average of 62%, with the personalised ‘Fleet Risk Assessment Report’ providing useful tips on making further improvements.

Driving for Better Business is a Highways England programme designed to raise awareness of the dramatic benefits that employers in both private and public sectors can achieve from managing work related driving more effectively.

What are the four requirements?

Senior management are aware of the legal obligations on them and the business, and fully support the need to manage work-related road risk effectively.

Complete the 'Driving for Better Business' online risk assessment and have a plan in place to fill any significant gaps.

Have a ‘Driving at Work’ policy that is compliant with Health and Safety Executive guidance on managing driving at work (INDG382), which has been effectively communicated to our staff.

Hold organised records on all drivers and vehicles to ensure that all are eligible to make business journeys, and that collisions and costs can be actively monitored.

The Driving for Better Business has been endorsed by many of the leading work-related road safety organisations, including the FTA (Freight Transport Association) with whom we are an official FTA Van Excellence Gold Partner.
