ICT Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ICT Technician to join our dynamic IT support team based in in Bude, Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities;

IT Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to staff and users, resolving issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot desktop PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, escalating issues as needed.
  • Offer technical assistance with software applications, including M365, and resolve any user-related issues or queries.

Cloud & M365 Administration:

  • Administer, configure, and manage Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Oversee the creation, modification, and removal of user accounts and permissions within Azure Active Directory (AAD).
  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality of cloud applications with on-premises systems.
  • Provide end-user support and training on M365 apps, ensuring users are maximizing productivity tools.

Cybersecurity Management:

  • Implement and enforce security policies for both cloud and on-premises systems to protect organizational data and networks.
  • Configure and manage multi-factor authentication (MFA), security compliance policies, and conditional access policies within M365 and Azure AD.
  • Monitor systems for potential security vulnerabilities and respond to incidents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Regularly update and patch systems to ensure they are secure and compliant with organizational standards.

Mobile Device Management (MDM):

  • Configure and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (e.g., Intune) to manage and secure mobile devices within the organization.
  • Set up and enforce security policies for mobile devices, including remote wipe, data encryption, and app management.
  • Provide user support for mobile device issues, ensuring devices are compliant with the organization’s security and data policies.

Network & Systems Maintenance:

  • Assist in the maintenance and optimization of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud-based applications.
  • Ensure the regular backup of critical data, applying best practices for disaster recovery and system restoration.
  • Monitor system performance and security events, reporting and addressing any incidents proactively.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of IT systems, configurations, and security protocols.
  • Document common troubleshooting solutions, processes, and best practices to improve team efficiency.
  • Assist with periodic security audits, compliance checks, and preparing reports for management.

Personal Profile & Essential Skills:

Essential:

  • Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure Active Directory (AAD).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including identity and access management, MFA, data protection, and compliance policies.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools such as Intune, including setting up policies, managing mobile devices, and troubleshooting device-related issues.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
  • Proficient in IT troubleshooting, system maintenance, and issue resolution.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well with end-users and non-technical staff.

Desirable:

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are highly beneficial.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting or other automation tools is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework or best practices in IT service management.
  • Previous experience in a cloud migration or cybersecurity implementation project is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Flexibility for occasional travel to other bott sites in the UK and abroad.
  • Valid passport & driving licence

 Full-time, Permanent, Onsite 

Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
