Key Responsibilities
Order & Project Management
- Coordinate with the sales and design teams to ensure customers’ expectations are accurately translated into production schedules and plans.
- Operationally manage the vehicle conversion orders & equipment kits from confirmed order status to handover to conversion, ensuring that all orders are processed on time and within budget.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Oversee and manage the inventory levels of materials, parts and accessories needed for vehicle conversions.
- Ensure timely procurement, production and delivery of all components required for conversion.
Logistics Coordination
- Oversee the shipping and delivery of conversion equipment and kits to UK Conversion Centres and Partner Network, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and correct paperwork is provided.
- Work with UK Logistics Team to ensure products and kits arrive on time.
- Work with the Quality Team to package parts effectively and efficiently keeping damage to a minimum.
General
- Establish key KPIs to measure and track progress, sharing with the team as appropriate.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production and fulfilment operations, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Analyse performance metrics and work to resolve any bottlenecks or delays in the production or delivery process.
- To provide timely and accurate updates to internal customers on the progress of equipment and kits.
- To lead and manage, providing direction, support and training to ensure the efficient flow of the department.
- To monitor team performance and to resolve any operational issues and ensure that quality standards are maintained.
- To work with the Facilities Team to ensure the Ashby site is maintained, secure and well presented at all times.
- Operationally manage the vehicle conversion orders & equipment kits from start to handover to conversion, ensuring that all orders are processed on time and within budget.
- Work closely with the production and warehouse teams to ensure all specifications and requirements are met for each conversion project and delivered on time.
Personal Profile & Essential Skills:
Proven experience as a Production Manager, ideally within vehicle conversions or automotive industries.
- Strong understanding of production planning, resource allocation and process optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, inventory control and project coordination.
- Experience of leading and managing a team in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with internal teams and customers.
- Attention to details and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects.
- Proficient in using management and inventory software tools.
- Previous experience of using SAP, particularly PS or SD modules, would be an advantage.
- Flexibility for occasional travel to other bott sites in the UK and abroad.
- Valid passport & driving licence.
